Our first beach trips of the year!
Hey everyone! Long time no blog! Just thought I'd update everyone on what the Fischer's are up to these days. Sean and I are both trying to finish up our school year. I'm in the middle of Spring semester and taking anthropology, Japanese, and the usual volleyball. I'm also coaching my little volleyball team still, they are really fun! I've also been taking a BUNCH of pictures. I'm trying to build my portfolio so I've been doing portraits for friends. Some of them are up on my new photoblog, if you wanna go check them out and let me know what you think the address is briannakphoto.blogspot.com. All of my pictures are on my new flickr though so that's a better spot to check: flickr.com/photos/briannaphoto. I'll be putting some more pics up soon. As for Sean, he's doing well in his classes but he can't wait to be done. He just had spring break so we went on a few trips out to Huntington Beach to get our tan on! We've gotten some color so thats good! Gotta be ready for the summer! Here are some pics of our latest beach trip. We played out on the beach then searched the sale racks along Main St. Then we had some yummy burgers at Duke's :P

Gettin' Sexy
So after we found out Bree wouldn't be huge and pregnant this summer we decided to get her a gym pass at my gym. I get a year pass through school for $29 and was able to add her on for about $149. I have had a pass to the gym since I started school here but haven't been once! I knew I'd be much more motivated to go if I had someone to go with me, and Bree was the obvious choice :) We quickly realized though, we had nothing to wear to the gym. So we took a trip to the Nike outlet and I got a couple pairs of basketball shorts and Bree got a couple pairs of running shorts.
Since we started going we have been hard-core! We go almost every night from 10-12, and have only missed when Bree was either in horrible pain or we were out of town. It's been about 2 1/2 weeks and I've lost 5 lbs and Bree has lost 4. We start our routine off doing our thing for about an hour then we meet up and do abs and run. Mikey T hooked me up with some intense routines that have left me unable to extend my arms at the elbow or raise them above my head afterwards. Bree is in far better shape than I am and she easily does her mile every night. I struggle with my asthma and old age during my mile and fight through those last tenths. We love going though and I'm excited for the day when Bree doesn't giggle and snicker when I take my shirt off!

Better Luck Next Time
Hey everyone, for those of you who don't already know, I just wanted to let everyone know that the pregnancy didn't stick :(. But, we're alright. We're still young, and we have plenty of time :). I figure everything happens for a reason, and we just have to trust that Heavenly Father has a plan for us. Thanks for everyone's concern and support. ♥

Vegas Getaway!
So over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend, Sean and I decided on a whim to get away to Vegas for a couple days. It was so fun! We left at around 8:30 on Saturday night and drove 3 hours to the border. We figured we should just stay somewhere cheap if we were just gonna get there at midnight, so we stayed at Whiskey Pete's. To be honest it was pretty nappy, but we weren't about to be picky. The next morning we got up and went to the outlets and shopped around before we headed to Vegas. When we got to Vegas, we used Sean's handy iPhone as a GPS to find CAFE RIO!! My favorite restaurant! It was deeeeelicious. If you ever go there, you have to get the Pork Barbacoa salad with creamy tomatillo dressing! Simply amazing :D Anyways, so then our trip proceeded as follows:

The Final Chapter
Here it is, the final entry to mine and Sean's love story(for real this time :D)... After that strange night that the question of Vegas was posed, I started to think about it... A LOT. Everyday it seemed I would think about what Mom would say when I came home to her with such overwhelming news. Sean and I discussed it constantly. There was a lot of "Are you sure you want to do this?" "Well, what if this.." But, everytime we had this discussion, we always returned to the same conclusion. We loved each other. We knew this was what we wanted, and being apart from one another was not an option. After shopping for affordable rings for a few weeks, we eventually found the perfect pair of modest but beautiful rings for us. Finally, the day came... Monday, September 4, 2006. We had it all planned out and now was the time to close our eyes and take the leap. Driving up to Vegas was nerve-racking but equally exciting. When we arrived, it was about 3:00 in the afternoon, and after getting our marriage liscense's, we walked hand in hand down the street on our way to the courthouse. We were stopped halfway by a man in a jazzy white hat and slacks who asked, "Are the two of you getting married at the courthouse today?" When we nodded he proceeded to tell us that his chapel does the same thing, but it was $5 cheaper AND we would receive 24 pictures! We looked at each other and decided "WHY NOT?" So we made our way into the chapel and after filling out some paperwork, we stood face to face, sending winks and smiles, and promised our lives to each other. And that was it... he was my husband and I was his wife. Scary?? No, of course not. It was the best decision I've made so far in life. The rest of our time in Vegas was spent lounging at the pool in the Monte Carlo sipping Virgin PiƱa Coladas, walking the strip, shopping, and, well, you know :P. And one thing was certain.. we could not stop smiling.

Summer Love
Here is the last entry to my series for my personal romance novel(alright, I don't think it quite meets the qualifications for a novel but its the closest I've come). So after working on the river with the guy who had crossed my mind so many times over the past year, whose name I soon found out to be Sean Fischer, we started to hang out outside of work. The first movie we saw together was Superman Returns. And we didn't go together. We just went with a group of people, and we happened to sit next to each other. I spent about an hour trying on clothes and doing my hair for that outing. Nothing seemed to be acceptable. Everything I tried on was junk. I ended up wearing a really cute shirt that my older sister had accidentally left at the house. While we were awaiting the start of the movie, sitting in the dark, I decided to try and make a little small talk with Sean. So I turned to him and said the first thing I could think of, "It's hot in here, isn't it?" Fanning myself a little. 'Wow, Bree' I thought, 'Way to look like a retard!' But to my surprise Sean seemed to think differently. "Yeah, you are hot..I mean!..." Then he gave a little sly smile. This definitely made my night, and throughout the rest of the movie, I felt just like a ten year old girl because I kept stealing quick glances at him and flashing rosy smiles. So we started to hang out on a regular basis. Going to lunch, hitching rides out to the river, watching movies. Pretty soon we started to get pretty exclusive. We saw each other everyday without fail. One night, while Sean and I were watching a movie at his house, Sean says to me, "I've always wanted to get married in Vegas." I didn't think much of this, just that he seemed a little crazy. Then the conversation went on, and we were talking about how odd it would be to elope and come back and say, "We're married!" Then all of the sudden Sean says, "Would you go to Vegas with me?" He had an enormous smile on his face, and, of course, I figured he was joking. I just laughed and said, "You're weird." But he didn't laugh.... Was he crazy??? Find out in the next blog!!! (haha, I had you thinking THIS was the last one. No way joSE!!)

Chapter 3: A Bittersweet Reunion
Well, after that day on the river, I couldn't help but fantasize about the gorgeous river guide. A few times in class that fall, I found myself daydreaming about getting married and and having cute little babies with him. Having family picnics with a red and white checked blanket, lemonade, and mini sandwiches cut into triangles. Then I blinked, only to find myself back in English class. Very disappointing to say the least. As the year snailed on, I got lost in the stresses of school and oppressive boyfriends. Finally the month of May rolled along, and I was visiting the doctor for some old volleyball injuries. After the checkup he told me about a job that I might be interested in. He handed me a pamphlet for a river rafting company and told me to call and apply. Well, it turns out I got the job without even so much as a "What is your name?" I showed up for the first day and met some of the guides I would be working with. There was Darron, the owner of the company, Myron, Darron's little brother, and Justin.. It didn't take me more than a second or two to recognize him this time. It was the shorter guide that took my team out the previous summer. Oddly enough, this was the very same rafting company that the hot guy in the yellow shirt worked for! I was more than excited when I realized this. But my excitement was promptly extinguished when Justin told me that he was still up at school and probably not going to be working this summer. So a month passed and it was June now. One particularly horrible day, I got a ride with another guide, Jimmy, to the river for some work. I was feeling pretty sick, I had a headache and I was trying to ditch my recently dumped boyfriend. I suppose I shouldn't leave out the fact that I looked like a homeless hitchhiker, so you can imagine how horrified I was when we pulled up only to see the one guy I had been dying to see all year.. There he was. His tall toned body, white bandanna, unforgettable smile, amazing blue eyes. Every ounce of me wanted nothing else but to stay in that car, out of sight. I couldn't let him see me looking like that! After a minute, I found myself slipping out of the car, with my eyes to the ground, hoping that this would somehow keep him from noticing me... I had avoided him successfully for about 2 minutes, and then I heard, "Hey!! I remember you!" I looked up and saw him beaming at me. All I decided to say was "Ya.." I managed a slight smile. I didn't talk to him at all the rest of the day. As you might expect though, I definitely put in twice the effort to look my best after this... TO BE CONTINUED!

Chapter 2 of our Love Story
A good month and a half passed by that summer. The hot guy in the yellow shirt came up in more than a couple conversatioins between Harper and I. And needless to say, I was quite disappointed that there had been no sign of this mystery man since Pioneer Day. Well, summer had passed and I had moved on to the fall volleyball season. Conditioning was finally over (!!) and the cuts had been made for the Varsity team. Now, every year, the team goes on a little outing for a bonding experience, and this year Coach decided that we were going WHITE WATER RAFTING! Or something like it. So we made our way out to the east side of bakersfield in our school vans and came to the Rio Bravo resort where we were fitted for our lifejackets. When we got in there, several decent looking guys and a couple girls came out to help us. One of them I seemed to recognize, but I couldn't put my finger on what from. Anyway, then I saw a VERY sexy guy walk out to help. He was tall, very tan(I could very well see this because he had no shirt on.. wow), and he was wearing a white bandana on his head. And did I mention he was VERY cute. So we took the bumpy ride down to the river in an old, basically run down school bus. And after our safety talk, as we made our way down to the rafts, the guy I had semi-recognized walked up next to me and gave me a sideways, "Hey." "Hi," I said, thinking: Do I know you?? Then he reminded me about PIONEER DAY. It was the shorter guy that came and talked to us with the hot guy in the yellow shirt! "I KNEW I recognized you!" I beamed. Then it hit me.. The tall, handsome river guide that I mentioned was none other than THE HOT GUY IN THE YELLOW SHIRT! And it turns out that I was in their raft. As we floated down the river I got to see that he was not only really, really good looking, but he was also very nice and very funny. At the end of the day, I made sure to stand next to him in our little end of the trip photo. And I'm sure if you looked at that photo you would see how red my cheeks were. And it wasn't from the sun. :) I surely hoped that I would see him again. But the odds were definitely against me.... TO BE CONTINUED in the next blog!

Love Story
Hey everyone! So I think its about time I posted Sean and Bree's love story on here. Some of you have heard it, but this is for those who haven't. Here goes nothin'... :D
One hot summer's day, I had planned to go and sing with my dad at the annual Pioneer Day event at the Kern County Museum. So I went along with Harper Casimiro, a close friend of mine. On my shirt, was the very profound phrase: "I'M WITH THE BAND". Yes, the day was going well I suppose, with the exception of the scorching heat. It was nearly the end of the festive event, and Harper and I had probably circled the place around 11 times. It was getting a little hot, so we decided to find some shade. Pretty much all we could talk about was the unbearable heat. Then, my eyes strayed over to a nearby historic building where a couple people were having a friendly chat. As I turned my attention toward them, I could see that there was a very handsome, tall, tan, incredibly dreamy guy standing there. I turned to Harper and said, "Harper, don't look now, but there's a hot guy in a yellow shirt over there." Yes, it was love at first sight for the both of us. We realized that we had never before seen attractive til then. Then we came to our senses and realized that the heat had finally become ridiculous. We then planned a kind of devious plan. We decided that when we walked by those two guys on our way out to the parking lot, Harper would glance over to see if the hot guy in the yellow shirt was checking me out. So, we walked by and I utilized my best sexy walk. And sure enough, Harper turned to me and beamed, "OH ya, he was TOTALLY checking you out." So, we laughed our way out to the parking lot. All of the sudden, we hear someone yell. We turn around only to see the hot guy in the yellow shirt and his shorter, less attractive friend(HAHA just kidding justin). Then we had a little conversation, and they were trying to act like they knew us. But all I could think about was the hot guy in the yellow shirt. I kept quickly glancing over at him to see him smiling his gorgeous smile. I was too shy to talk to him. Hehe. then we parted our ways.... was I ever going to see the hot guy in the yellow shirt again???? Read on in the NEXT BLOG!!

School, work, study, work, study, work, volleyball, sleep.
This week has been a bit off the wall. Coming back from a nice, long, relaxing break and getting smacked in the face with Anatomy class is definitely a hard transition. My class is from 10:30 to 3:30 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Don't get me wrong, it's very interesting but it's a LOT. Even worse, I have to coach right after class on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Plus, I have to work in the school athletic training room right after class on Wednesday and allll day Friday. My only day off is Saturday but this weekend I'm trying out for the Cal Poly volleyball team during the day. Busy Week! Sean has a quiz tomorrow and next week so he's been studying and will be studying alllll weekend. Life in school is tough for a married couple. We get so stressed and sometimes it's hard not to take it out on each other. I feel like I definitely need to make an effort to be nice, so that Sean doesn't get even more stressed. Something that's also going to help us get through this is this new feature I found on my phone. I was looking at the calender on my phone and I discovered that you can set alarms for things you need to do throughout the day! Anyone who knows me can tell you that I am probably one of the most forgetful people on the planet(I've been told many a time that I would forget my head if it weren't attached). So, I've been planning my whole week out on my phone with different reminders at different times like "grab the checkbook" or "do the laundry". I've gotten so much done that I know I would've forgotten otherwise. Hopefully this will take some stress off of Sean during his endeavors to finish his classes. He works so dang hard. I am so lucky. I was just talking to my single non-member friend(she's my BEST friend, actually) who is in school, and she is so worried about the future. She doesn't know what she wants or is able to do for the rest of her life. She doesn't know who she will end up with or even if she will. She's scared about the world and knows it's coming to an end at some point. Her life is just such a mystery, and it scares her to death. I'm so glad I know what direction my life is going. I have a husband who I am excited to start my family with. I have the church that points me in the right direction everyday. I am going through school and earning a degree. I really feel like I don't have a whole lot to worry about. I know that the Lord has blessed me and Sean so much. I hope that I can help my best friend get her life together, and I hope that she sees someday that the church is the reason for my blessings.

Families are Forever
As the holiday season comes to a close, I'd like to express my love for my family. My happiest moments are with family. I'm so grateful for both sides of my family. I could not have asked for sweeter and more accepting in-laws. Sean's family is great! I feel so at ease in their home, like I belong. Thank you guys for all your love and support! And of course, I'm so grateful for my family. We have so much fun when we're together. I just wish we could be together more often. Here are pics of both sides of our family. The first is mine, and the second is Sean's.

At the End of a Great Volleball Season..
So, my volleyball career is officially over... and I am so sad. I had such a great 2 seasons at Mt. SAC. I could not have asked for a better group of girls and coaches. Over the past year and a half, I bonded so much with all of these girls, and I just can't believe it's over. So, here are some pictures of us at our team sleepover and then our end of the year banquet. Enjoy! there are a lot of pictures so beware, haha!
I am going to miss ALLLLL of these girls so much! Too much :(

The L.A. Sparks Game!!
Last Thursday, we were fortunate enough to get a pair of FREE VIP tickets to the L.A. Sparks game at the Staples Center!(The Sparks are a WNBA team) This is how it happened... My trainer is a basketball fan, and she's friends with a lady who works for a radio station and gets free tickets. She gives some of those tickets to my trainer(whose name is Cassandra), so one day Cassandra is telling me that she has tickets to this game that was that night. Well we had plans that night, but I told her that if she got tickets for anymore games she should let me know because Sean and I would love to go. Sure enough, a week or two later she asked me if we were open for Thursday night, and we were! So she gave me a pair of tickets that were for a suite. We were feelin like royalty because we went into the Staples Center through the VIP entrance, and we rode a really nice elevator with one of those elevator guys to escort us to "Level C". Then we walked around a really nice hallway to get to the suite, where you had to scan the tickets to get in. We didn't watch the game from the suite, BUT we met Cassandra there and she gave us PRACTICALLY COURT-SIDE TICKETS. It was sweet. We were the first row behind courtside, Row A. It was so much fun. They played the Orlando Dream but lost by about 10. It was a good way for Sean to take a break from school and the stress that comes with it.
VIP YO!! What what!

Our 2 Year (and 1 Week) Anniversary!
It has now officially been 2 years since Sean and I have been married. I can't believe it! We have come so far. It's been quite the journey going from under-grad and working up in Davis to Pharmacy and Mt. SAC down in Pomona. Our marriage has grown so much in the past couple years. I'm so incredibly grateful for the hard work that Sean puts in towards our future. I know he doesn't think I care, but really without his efforts and ambition, we would be really shakey right now. There are no words to express what he means to me. Since we've been married, my love has just grown so much for him. He makes me laugh and keeps me happy when I need it. He is such a sweetheart. I am so forgetful, and he always picks up my slack (unfortunately for him..). He has been such a blessing in my life, and without him, I would not be where I am today. And that's the TRUTH! Sean, I love you so much, please be patient with me. I know it's hard because I'm so insanely ditsy. I hope to be the best companion for you that I can be. You definitely deserve it.

Summer Days
So, Sean and I have been going to the beach as much as we can this summer. We've never lived so close to the beach, and it is SO nice to only have to drive 35 minutes to get there. We usually go to Huntington Beach because it's the closest, and my sister and brother-in-law live there. Sean loves to take his days off and relax at the beach. Plus, he wants to get nice and tan for the girls ;).

Hey everyone! So, Sean is now done with school for the summer, and he's really happy about that. A couple months ago he applied for a position for the summer as an intern at a hospital in West Covina. Everybody at school wanted the position. There were even students from USC that wanted it. But it turns out that Sean dominated the competition and got the job! I'm so proud of him! He is such a hard worker, and he's at the top of his class at school. So, he's been working there now for a few weeks and he really likes it. On a typical day, he makes IV's and works in the downstairs pharmacy. And he also, goes up to patients' rooms to check their charts and medicinal dosages and if those dosages need to be adjusted he makes the adjustments. What he likes most about working is the fact that he can come home and just relax and not have to think about anything until the next time he goes to work. With school he was constantly worried about tests and quizzes and always studying!
As of yesterday, I'm also finally done with school! I had two finals: a History final and a painting final. For my history final my friend and I studied all night! And my art final was to do a painting of whatever picture and whatever style we chose, and we had 2 weeks to finish it (believe me! that is NOT enough time for me to finish haha). So this is the painting that I did. It's in pop style, which means you don't blend anything. It's not done, I still have to finish the necklace, the lips, and parts of the skin, so hopefully I can get that done now that I'm done with school for a while. :D

Hard Work!
This Memorial Day Sean and I drove up to Bakersfield to visit the family. What Sean didn't know was that he would have his work cut out for him. It turns out my parents fence was recently blown over, so the men were put to work rebuilding it.
Look at that leveling job! They swore it was just cuz the level was broken.

Dad, making sure everything is just right. It took him a while to get those nails out. .

Sean's back isn't feeling too great from all the hard work though. And to make things worse, he started his summer hospital job the next day! But he's very glad to be out of school for the summer. Now he can just relax and watch the basketball game when he comes home. GO LAKERS!!!

Official Wedding Photographer!
Hey everyone! So, I'm really excited and nervous at the same time because I have officially booked my first paid wedding! Last Saturday was the engagement session. Going into it, I was a kind of apprehensive about how it would go. I was a little worried about whether or not I would meet thier expectations and seem professional. I went through the shoot in my head about a hundred times that day before we went over there. Just to make sure we knew what all the settings should be on the camera, Sean and I did a little mini-shoot outside our apartment. We didn't want to have to worry about it when we got there.
Sean (as my assistant :D) and I went to a park in the evening and met the couple. They turned out to be really nice. Overall, I think that my first shoot had some minor glitches that need to be fixed next time, but I think we got some decent pictures out of it. After we took pictures the couple, Orlando and Sandy, took us out to dinner. So that helped us get to know them a little better and that always helps. Now hopefully I'll be more comfortable with them for the wedding which is on July 18th.
So, we've posted some of the finished products on our flickr page for them to look at, and now we're just waiting for them to pick their favorite. Here are some of the ones that I think turned out the best. Let me know what you think! :D
