Cancun: Day 5

On day 5, we went to the ancient city of Tulum. Poor Sean almost wasn't going to go, but he bucked up and decided he would. What a trouper! It took about an hour and a half on a bus to get there, and Sean was not doing very well. Luckily we stopped at a little souvenir place halfway that had bathrooms. It was funny because there was a man standing outside the bathrooms that was passing out paper towels and there was a little tip basket next to him! Haha! Anyway, so we got to Tulum and stuck with our tour guide for a little bit, then we got to go down to the beach and swim in the beautiful water. Sean sat on the beach, but Mandi, Brian, and I went swimming. It was great because it was so hot. But then all of a sudden, a tropical storm hit us and the lifeguard made everyone get out of the water. At this point, Sean was ready to go, so he told us he would meet us back at the bus. The rest of us stuck around as long as we could to take pictures and look around. That's when it started raining REALLY hard. We were almost getting blown over by the wind, and the rain and sand were pelting us so hard it stung! So we decided to head back to the bus. In the mean time, Sean was trying to find a bathroom, but the first one had no doors on the stalls and you had to pay for a couple little tiny squares of toilet paper! The second one.... let's just say it was the nastiest bathroom he had ever seen but it was free so he had no choice. Anyway, so then we get back and we think we've lost Sean, so me and Mandi were looking everywhere for him. But it turns out he was on the bus the whole time lol. The second part of our trip, they took us to a jungle resort where we ate lunch, swam and looked at all the animals they had along the paths. What an adventure!

Cancun: Day 4

On our fourth day, we went ziplining! It was super fun. We didn't realize how huge the course was (like 12 really high towers) until we got there! After ziplining, we got back to the resort and asked if we could be moved to the newest part of the resort called the Moon Grand. The rooms here were alot more spacious and luxurious! Once we got situated in our new suites, we ate lunch at a little place called Los Tacos and it was really good! Then we swam for a bit in the pools, had a little sushi, and then went to get ready for the evening. On this night, we had dinner at a nice Japanese restaurant that Mandi and Brian couldn't stop talking about. They said they ate there twice when they came on their honeymoon, so we were really excited to try it out! The food turned out really good. Me, Mandi, and Brian got chicken teppanyaki, and beef teriyaki and Sean got shrimp curry and a couple pieces of sushi. For dessert, I got a fried banana and Sean got Fried icecream. An overall great dinner experience.......That is, until about 4am the next morning. Turns out, Sean got really bad food poisoning from the sushi that he ordered! We knew that's what it was cuz nobody else got sick. ¡¡Pobrecito!!

Ready to embark on our extreme Zipline adventure!

Cancun: Day 3

Day 3 was even more of an adventure! In the morning we ordered room service for breakfast because we has to leave super early for our trip to the island of Isla Mujeres. We took a boat from the mainland and the crossed turquoise waters to get to this little island. When we got there we spent time at an Island resort where we ate breakfast, cooled off in the pools, rode water tricycles and kayaks on the beach, and me and Mandi got henna tattoos (they supposedly last 3 weeks, but they started fading within a couple days... :/ ) After spending a few hours there, we got back on the boat and went to another part of the island. It was sooooo sooo hot when we were walking around there, I seriously felt like I was getting heat stroke. So we decided it would be fun to rent a couple scooters and drive around the island! And by the time we got back it was time to get back on the boat to head back to Cancun.

Room service anyone?

Toooo early!
